Senior Reservoir Engineer

Shawn Nix began his oilfield career with Vintage Petroleum in the A&D group. He worked for Newfield and Ram Energy helping with A&D, Operations, and Reserves. He earned his Petroleum Engineering degree in 2011 from the University of Tulsa. Upon completion, took a job with Chaparral Energy as a Senior Reservoir Engineer in the Enhanced oil recovery group. In 2014 he was promoted to Engineering Manager over the EOR group where he managed water and CO2 recovery floods. He was promoted to Corporate Reserves manager in 2017. Shawn joined Meagher Energy Advisors in 2018 in the Tulsa office. With Meagher he led the engineering evaluation of A&D deals across multiple basins. In 2020, Shawn joined Giant Capital as Corporate Reserves Manager. While with Giant capital he reviewed over 1,500 deals. In 2022, Shawn joined Covenant Royalties to assist in engineering evaluations and business development opportunities. Shawn loves to play golf, basketball, coach kids sports and travel.

Shawn is a member of SPE, OIPA, ADAM TULSA/OKC and served on the board for SPE IOR conference.
